Jenna Laine Weddings: Mary Michael & Will

We can not even express how much fun we had planning with Mary Michael and her sweet mom! Mary Michael may be our most detail oriented bride thus far and we loved that quality! She wanted to make sure that every moment of her day was personalized, unique to her and Will, yet also very classic and fit for the Grand Ballroom. One of my favorite details from her reception was the pink taper candles provided by Wildflowers Fairhope, and the gorgeous cake table. Mary Michael had so many gorgeous images, we had a hard time narrowing them down, below are a few of our favorites from this special day.

Cheers to Mary Michael & Will!

Jenna Laine Weddings Alexandra & Wes

Alexandra & Wes’s wedding was a perfect classic black and white wedding. We loved everything about this brides look from her Jimmy Choo shoes to her bridesmaids stylish black and white gowns. At the reception we incorporated white and black linens, paired with white chiavari chairs, black taper candles and sleek centerpieces consisting of all white orchids, hydrangeas, tulips and roses. It was the perfect combination of modern and classic elegance.

Cheers to Alexandra & Wes!

Jenna Laine Weddings: Sarah and Paul

Sarah and Paul had one of our favorite at home weddings to date. They were open to letting us and our team of vendors get creative and do what we all do best. The bride had just a few request, one being that her ceremony took place on the bay side of her parents home between two gorgeous oak trees and two that we incorporated lots of pretty colors.

Guests were greeted at the front door with a beautiful boxwood champagne wall, decked out in gorgeous pastel blooms. As they stepped out into the backyard they were met with floating flowers in the pool, gorgeous oak tree trunks decorated from top to bottom in beautiful blooms. A band tent dripping with flowers and a vibrant blue backdrop. Soft blue and white linens and later the most perfect sunset. To finish out the night the bride and groom had Chick-fil-a mini’s and fun flashy blinky hats, headbands and tambourines for all their guest and a perfect sparkler exit.

We are so thankful to of been a part of this spectacular day! Cheers to the

Jenna Laine Weddings: Whitfield and Blake

We absolutely loved working with Whitfield and Blake, along with their families, to plan their beautiful April wedding day. From the floral details to the beautiful bridesmaid dresses to tented reception, the design details of their wedding were incredible. They had some of the sweetest moments, too— from the precious first look between Whitfield and her dad to the emotional moment she walked down the aisle to Blake. Aimee and Robbie Reynolds captured the day perfectly with the photos and video below. Working with this sweet couple was a joy, and we wish we could do it all over again! Cheers to the Griffeth’s!

Tell us your story as a couple.

Our story begins at a Christmas bonfire 2013 when a group of friends gathered to celebrate being home for the holidays.  You read about “love at first sight” but it really does happen – we’ve been together ever since that night!  The first few years were challenged by distance with Blake working in Seattle and I finishing school in Tuscaloosa.  Three years later, underneath a beautiful arbor with twinkling lights, Blake proposed marriage to me on bended knee!  With tears and a joyful heart – the answer was yes.  Planning began immediately.  April 7, 2018, Blake and I tied the knot with the help of friends, family and the best wedding coordinators ever!  It was an absolute dream – I wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding day.  Blake and I happily reside in Williamsburg, Virginia with our two pups, Cyrus and Bailey.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

My favorite part of the planning process was being able to talk openly about a variety of options with Jenna and Courtney.  They would bring wonderful ideas to the table and we would discuss the pros and cons of all until a decision was made.  I chose every single detail of our big day with Mom by my side the whole way. It was such a special time for Mom and I and …she kept me sane!  Jenna and Courtney made the planning so easy and let’s not forget the famous Leslie Gilbert as she orchestrated the wedding day without a ripple!  They had a plan for everything – rain, sleet or snow – they were ready to go!!

What was your favorite moment of the day?

Favorite details abound about our wedding day, but one particular memory is my favorite.  I’ve had many special people who loved and molded me through the years.  One such person was my Grandfather, S.M. Broughton - we called him Pop for short.  Pop had a silver cross that he kept near and dear to him at all times.  Another such person was my Grandmother, Betty Carolyn McDonnieal Kittrell– we called her Memaw.  Memaw loved a good handkerchief but she had some favorites that she always carried to church or special occasions such as weddings or funerals.  One of her favorites was an initialed handkerchief embroidered in light blue. To my surprise, Mom carefully stitched both treasures inside the skirt of my wedding dress so these two important people were beside me the whole way!

If you could give advice to another bride in the process of planning her wedding what would it be?

I would advise every bride to take a deep breath and love every second of the planning process!  I know it can be stressful but take a minute to enjoy where you are because your big day will be here before you know it!

Jenna Laine Weddings: McClellan and Dylan

McClellan and Dylan had a March wedding at Camp Beckwith, and we loved working with them! McClellan lives in Colorado, so we only got to meet with her in person once, but we loved getting to bring her southern wedding to life. She wore the most beautiful flower crown and the couple vowed to forever overlooking the most beautiful view of Weeks Bay. They celebrated with friends and family afterwards, and then left their reception in a boat! Check out more about McClellan and Dylan and a few of our favorite pictures from their day below. Cheers to the McRoberts!

Jenna Laine Weddings

Tell us your story.

Dylan and I met in 2010 in the Mississippi Delta through the Teach for America program. We were both assigned to be high school math teachers. He was cute, but we were both preoccupied with our new jobs and were seeing other people. In 2014, we reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding and almost immediately began dating. I moved to Colorado, where Dylan is from, and the rest is history!

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

Once I sent Jenna my vision for the wedding day, she sent a vision board that was almost exactly what I was thinking! I was shocked and fell in love with her ideas immediately. It was really cool to work with someone that could turn the rambling email that I sent into something so spot on. I also live in Colorado, so we only met in person once. Her communication and organization were excellent and we were able to accomplish all of the planning long distance with no hiccups!

What was your favorite moment of the day?

There are so many of them! I thought the ceremony was a perfect mix of traditional church procedures and our laid back and outdoorsy style. I loved the canoe entrance--the groomsmen carried me in a canoe into the venue. I wore a life jacket and it was absurdly fun! The band was super fun (they are called Second Groove Showband--check them out!) and made for a wild reception that ended in a sparkler send-off and boat ride back to my parents’ house. The after party was a blast because we created song books for people to sing along to our favorite songs, like a group karaoke event!

If you could give advice to another bride in the process of planning her wedding what would it be?

Relax! This is such a special time of life and although it can be stressful and hectic, it is a beautiful experience to plan. No one will notice the little things that go differently than you planned, so focus on the big picture and don’t sweat the small stuff.

Jenna Laine Weddings: Leah and Raleigh

We were so honored when Leah called and asked us to travel to Highlands, NC to help her plan the perfect destination wedding at the beautiful Lullwater House. We loved working with Leah and Raleigh on their Highlands, North Carolina wedding. You can see from their pictures how excited they both were, and it was just the sweetest day. Guests attended a beautiful outdoor ceremony, and then enjoyed a night of celebration under a beautifully lit tent. We loved that Leah changed into the cutest 2-piece outfit to dance the night away. They don’t get much sweeter than Leah and Raleigh, and we were honored to play a part in their wedding day. Cheers to the Christman’s!
